No opinion of CEO

Pros

Lots of experience and a very knowledgable and likeable team. The food on site is a bore and it's quite a drive to get something to eat

Cons

Hard to move up ladder and get new ideas or processes going; the big guys get all the good parking spots too

Advice to Management

Remain simply a telecom company

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Diverse culture, good product mix, can get away with anything (no accountability at this company).

    Cons

Too numerous to mention: poor leadership, poor decision-making ability by Sr. management, discrimination (age and race), HR department is very week - no follow-through, VERY bureaucratic and political environment, little to no performance feedback, insecure engineering and mgmt staff (does not empower their employees), very weak engineering team, etc etc..

    Advice to Management

Entire CCOP mgmt staff needs to be held accountable for their poor business sense and leadership ability.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

JDSU has great people! People that will bend over backwards to do a good job and put in the right amount of time and effort. Also, the compensation is pretty good when you bust your butt. They are willing to negotiate when they really want you!

    Cons

The management team do not understand how to run a $1.0B+ business. Due to all the M&A activity, you've got small potatoes managers trying to strategically run a huge business. The communication of strategy beyond the CEO and his staff is extremely poor, the worker bee doesn't have any idea how what they do on a daily basis does anything good for the company.

    Advice to Management

Management - learn to communicate your strategy, identify clear objectives that you organizations can rally behind to ensure that they are successful.
