Mostly supportive management that believed in innovation.
Cons
No recession proof decision making prowess. In fact the Washington Mutual crisis affected morale substantially.
Advice to Senior Management
Streamline processes. Need to have a system by which projects are systematically evaluated on their intrinsic merits and not based on the biases of its sponsors.
