I have been working at Jacobs

Pros

For those that don't shy away from hard work, you will enjoy working here. Hard work is recognized and rewarded with great compensation and exciting projects. Long-term employment is prevalent with this company. There are many people with 30 and 40 year careers still working for the company. Turnover is very low.

Cons

There are not very many opportunities for step-function growth. For those that start with JT in their early career, the climb is long and perhaps a bit impossible. The best place to enter JT is in mid-management, when you are confident in your trade and ready to take on more.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to find ways to grow (and recognize growth) in more junior employees so they don't need to leave to make those larger leaps in their career.
Keep doing a great job recognizing project sucesses and making hard work rewarding.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Local Senior Managers need to look more closely at what is causing a downturn in office morale: some people are overworked while others hang on without pulling their weight. Accountability needs to be applied across the board to managment and staff with clear and concise expectations and consequences. This means establishing realistic budgets with monitoring. If a project is underfunded don't make the employees carry the burden.

I have been working at Jacobs

    Pros

Their managers want to help and care for their employees at most of the segments.

    Cons

Company has become less technical and now they do cafeteria support and janitorial. In the past their jobs and duties were more focused on innovation and ideas.
