I worked at Jenny Craig full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Clean work environment, friendships, a few inspiring clients, half off food, working as a team

Cons

Too many (unimportant) operational pieces to keep track of. You are always made to feel that something is falling through the cracks.

Technology is extremely outdated.

Pay below Centre Director level is appalling for the amount of tasks and responsibilities, and to be the main point of contact for the clients.

High employee turnover rate due to low wages, unrealistic performance expectations, and feeling unappreciated and under valued by the company.

Upper management comes across as arrogant, smug, and secretive. The employees do not view them as having integrity.

Marketing: We were expected to grow the business, but had only 1-2 new clients per month.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve Marketing!

Increase Compensation! Good luck retaining qualified, dedicated, loyal employees, especially consultants, at the current pay rate.

Increase Transparency! Your employees are not idiots, but you treat them as such. Train your management team to act with integrity. You have an extremely negative corporate culture.

Take a long, hard look in the mirror to see that you are responsible for so many of the issues leading to the decline of the business. With so many unflattering employee and client reviews online, the internet and social media will contribute to the decline (demise?) of Jenny Craig if changes are not made.

    I have been working at Jenny Craig full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    The chance to make a positive difference in people's lives by supporting their weight loss goals.
    Vast menu options. Centres are located in convenient, desirable locations. The benefit package offered for full-time is competitive. All employees receive a good opportunity to lose weight on the Jenny Craig program.

    Cons

    Some of the centres are mismanaged and there is little to no accountablity. Some centres have an alarming high turnover.
    Many clients drop off the program because of preservatives in the food items and they often complain the food is too expensive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Nestle: If you want a return on your investment, you will have to dig deep. Centre Directors that work in Centres with an unusual high turnover should be investigated.

    Pros

    The opportunity to truly help someone transform their life through weight loss and weight management. Incentive to embrace a personal healthy lifestyle.

    Cons

    Low pay, long hours, outdated computer system, lack of trust of field employees,poor communication between corporate headquarters and centre/field. Commission structure sometimes fosters dishonesty, very little truly attractive incentives/bonuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Allow employees access to internet and email to service customers a standard expected level. Increase pay.
