I have been working at Jenny Craig

Pros

Extremely friendly environment.

Very laid back as well. Upper management easy to spot and come in contact with.

Cons

Pay.

IT department needs better management.

Marketing department also needs better management to fix problems with strategies and people responsible for those strategies that has not worked.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase pay for employees.

Improve medical benefits offered by the company.

    Pros

    You really DO change people's lives. Helping people help themselves.

    Cons

    COMMISSION BASED PAY. No financial recognition. They give "move points" which mean nothing. It is not "all about helping the client" it's about "selling and upgrading the client". The commission based pay brings out the worst in coworkers. Company gives in to brown-nosers and kiss a**es. You have to be really fake a lot of the time. Since the economy is so bad right now, 8 out of 10 sales people in our market are making less than $10 per hour!

    PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES!!!! GET RID OF THE COMMISSION STRUCTURE.

    I worked at Jenny Craig part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    *Helping/ Supporting clients with weight loss
    *Building one on one relationships with clients

    Cons

    *Hired as FULL TIME & only given PART TIME hours, breach of employment offer
    *Lack of Training: company does have a very out dated training program, BUT no direction/follow given with management
    * Salary is below minimal wage & commission is impossible to achieve
    * Constantly calling/harassing prior clients to re-join program
    *No Marketing: T.V/Radio Ads, forced to do "local" marketing...handing out flyers in a mall (very degrading)
    *Forced to work SLIT SHIFTS: 8-12 & 4-8, without getting paid
    * Very high turnover rate with consultants, clients get frustrated or quite the program

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    * Hiring Management, that know how to "manage'-> Train, Encourage, Support, Praise & who want to work for Jenny Craig, cause they have PASSION for the company/program, not just there to collect a pay check
    * Market Leaders/ Trainer, talk & ask consultants, why there is a high turnover rate, NOT just ask the Manger.
    * Offer a HOTLINE for employees to call for advise, when they can't go to management ( timecard fraud/ breach of company polices or theft)
