Plenty of good people putting in hard work, but internal politics and lack of direction blight it

I worked at Jeppesen Sanderson full-time

    Pros

    >Pay was competitive
    >Readiness to sponsor external training
    >Ability to travel

    Cons

    >Internal politics that severely hampered cross-business co-operation (to the point of hostility in some cases)
    >Opinions and advice of satellite offices not taken on or seriously by main office
    >Travel arrangements were so poor that self-booked budget airlines got to be standard and accommodation once meant top and tailing (sharing the same bed!) as colleagues/managers!
    >Real sense of crony-ism in top management and a complete dislocation of that to non-aeronautic business

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a real grip on business acquisitions and pay a little more than lip service to the corporate values. Not a company, based on my experience, I would want to invest my career in unless things changed quite radically.

I have been working at Jeppesen Sanderson full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

No one reviews works. No accountability. Easy job, as suprevisors do't review any of the work. Great work/life balance!!

    Cons

No accounting experience at manager level or above. No interest in trying to run the business efficiently or getting rid of wasteful spending. Resistance to improving the department.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire all finance and Supplier management and replace with individuals that knows what they are doing (even government employees would do a much better job). Don't continue to massage the numbers to look good to Boeing. Learn what the numbers mean for content and not just aesthetic value!!
