    Pros

Mission of Federation. Caring staff (not management)

    Cons

Senior Management is largely incompetent. Imagine being supervised by a head of individual giving, who has never had the experience of ever soliciting an individual. Support staff and entry/mid level employees are highly competent, which is where the problems arise. Its hard to work for managers who were promoted based solely on their connections and who they know, rather than performance. A total overhaul of senior management is needed.
The organization lacks a vision for the future. It tries different things hoping they will work; they usually fail and then they go back to the old way of thinking.
The organization does not value the opinions of its staff. Senior Staff thinks its knows best, and ignores ideas from entry and mid level staff members.
-Turnover is very high. Board members do not interact with staff and have no idea what is really going on in the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Board should fire all senior management with a younger generation of leaders. These old timers don't have the ability to change or adapt to the times. Federations are a dying bread. Donors are savey enough to give directly to agencies. If Federation doesnt change its way ASAP, they will be gone in 15 years.
