Pros

absolutly none, treated like dirt, poorly paid expected to work overtime for nothing and then they bring in new drivers with no experience and pay them more money . the only good thing about jewson is the day you leave and join the real job market paying proper wages. too many cheifs with expense accounts and company cars that dont directly profit the company and who seem to have the sole task of keeping theirselves in a cushy little job doing nothing and im sorry i have read your guidlines but their is absolutly nothing good i can think of to recommend this lot.

Cons

read the above. they pay rubbish wages they took away the bonus they took away our overtime pay but kept the extra work.

Advice to Management

try raising the moral of your staff. get the yard boys off minimum wage. pay your drivers a decent wage and bring back some inncentive. the frequently quoted phrase if you dont like it you know where the door is .. is not the way to go as thats what all the best staff do.. walk out to decent jobs and your left with the dross

I have been working at Jewson full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Scope for promotion. Lots of different companies under one umbrella. Something different every day. Huge network of support staff. Good training.

    Cons

Lack of rewards for hard working staff who do more than their fair share. Lack of a structured bonus scheme.

    Advice to Management

Do your best to keep good staff.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Solid company so good job security - if of course your face fits with any new managers who come on board who perhaps feel threatened by your knowledge & experience of the company which outweighs theirs AND if of course they stop centralising & de-centralising and making redundancies....

    Cons

    - Frequent centralisation/decentralisation threaten overall job security - Male dominated senior roles make it difficult for female progression - Salary band isn't the best on the market plus new starts are unfairly awarded a better rate of pay than the long term staff members making them feel severely undervalued - Annual pay reviews didn't take place regularly to keep up with cost of living inflation - Bonus incentives for central staff weren't do-able resulting in lowering morale

    Advice to Management

    - Listen to your employees and drop the sexist attitude (Govan Credit Management team Cahill & Holdsworth should pay particular attention to this)
