Jhpiego (an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University) -

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Baltimore, MD

ProsAs a Johns Hopkins University employee, you receive great medical benefits.

Opportunities for international travel.

Affiliation with the Johns Hopkins University provides access to speakers and events.

ConsCompared to other private universities and their affiliates, Jhpiego (an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University) does not provide a substantial amount of money towards tuition remission. Offering more educational benefits to employees would be a plus.

Junior and mid-level staff are rarely promoted. Jobs are almost never circulated internally -- new hires are external, which does not present growth opportunities for existing staff.

Advice to Senior ManagementIn order to retain staff, you need to present them with opportunities to grow professionally. Staff will quickly become frustrated and direct their energies elsewhere once they realize that promotions are few and far between.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
