I have been working at Jimmy Choo

Pros

Powerhouse in the global fashion industry, the products are notorious for celebrity attention and media recognition. Fun clientele to work with, you can make lots of connections.

Cons

Tight ship, sales people packed into usually small boutiques and asked to clientele and sell, sell. sell. Lots of catty politics and egos in managment.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep an ear to the street thats where the actions at, listen to your employees they are your soldiers.

I have been working at Jimmy Choo full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great to have a luxury brand on your CV as it shows that you can be diverse in sector & also survive a tough enviroment. You get to travel if you are lucky & you also get allowance for spend per year & access to the staff sample sales which is great if you are looking for a good bargain!

    Cons

If you work in Finance you might as well forget it as in Ecomm team you are either part or the family or not & most likely not as the rest of the bunch have been here for years & are to set in their ways, so you are more likely to be an outkast! They do not value their staff here & there is a constant requirement to work long hours if month end or not, & the team have got so used to doing so that it is normal to doing so. Really high turnover of staff here & no immediate back fill which increases the pressure on the remaining members of the team. There have been times when members of management have either come into work crying or left crying due to the enviroment so it is not for the faint hearted for sure! There is always fake concern for your welfare & they really ride you hard, very fiesty enviroment in general & working for a luxury brand a lot of people walk around with a chip on their shoulders. The finance function is a total mess & has been for a very long time with no immediate signs of this being improved. I am not able to comment on any other area's of the business but it is a general feel for the whole company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your staff & treat them right, you need to get passed the fake concern & also be realistic to what can actually be achieved & not expect yout staff to work constant long hours as there is a world outside of the office!

I worked at Jimmy Choo full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Generally, the work life balance is fair. Sometimes events take place which means very long hours, these days can be very tough and exhausting. Company values and office culture is typical of most retail fashion sectors.

    Cons

In the past the perks were Sample sales. I'm not sure that these still take place. Training is consistent for every season with the usual updates in the inspiration for the new collections. Leadership is strong and tough!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More perks, training and space to grow would be very beneficial to the company in the long term.
