I worked at JoS. A. Bank full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Clients were delightful! Even during stressful holiday times, they were understanding.

Cons

Busiest days are the weekend (when most men do not work). During the year plus that I was employed with the company, I was scheduled all of 5 Sundays (only because some of my male co-workers needed the time off).

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lack of communication. Upper mgmt. should ensure that ALL employees have the same information as my manager did an extremely poor job communicating with me. He did, however, ensure that all of my male co-workers were informed.

I worked at JoS. A. Bank part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

If you like retail, want building a customer base and push hard for sales you can have a strong future at Jos. A. Bank.

    Cons

Time off translates to lost sales. Expect long days and a quite irregular schedule. Work/Life balance is skewed towards work. Typical with most retailers is the press for customers personal information. Name. Address, phone number, e-mail, all used to JAB's advantage - especially "courtesy" phone calls. Also have to mention a laborious tuxedo rental program that most Sales Executives fail to fully understand leaving to many rental customers dealiing with frustration.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Deal with work/life balance. Teach Sr. Management to respect the store associates - give them true support in developing sales and maintaining an A+ customer experience. Beat down and beat up isn't right approach when sales are declining - especially in difficult economic times.
