Pros

Manager was very lenient to accommodate my schedule, makes the best of friends, good way to build clientele and resources for other opportunities.

Cons

Company does not recognizes the employees as hard workers, must sell high in order to be paid well, in-store employees being abused by customers while corporate employees deal with a less angered customer, Absurdly long hours during the holidays, corporate team continues to add new ways of doing business when employees are trying to figure out the last way of sales practice.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please listen to the employees. They are in the stores every single day dealing with unhappy customers and being paid so little does not help an employee stay positive. Slow down on the inventory, the stores that are smaller are receiving complaints from the customers about the lack of space in the environment. Employees that are able to do more than just sell like tuxedo rental, tailoring, etc., should be recognized and paid evenly as if they were only selling.

    Pros

People are great, you get to meet high power people that can possibly give you connections.

    Cons

The commission is terrible , you have to sell your soul off just to start seeing commission. That way, the company makes money while you stay with your hourly pay. For example, if you get 9 an hour with 6% commission, depending on how many hours you work will determine how much you have to sell to start actually making money. Considering you work 40 a week, that's 360 dollars with just your hourly pay. If your rate is 6%, divide 360 weekly by that 6%, and you'll get 6,000. So every week you have to sell a MINIMUM of 6,000 dollars JUST to start making commission. So in order to get a decent check (500-600 dollars) you're going to want to sell a minimum of 10,000 weekly so make a decent living, which is damn near impossible every week. If you sell 5900 by the end of the week, you still get your hourly and the company makes money. it gets tiring after a while.
