I worked at John Hancock full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The company continues to produce great numbers at the end of quarters which is encouraging
Plenty of positions available once you get into the system
Lots of people you can ask about career direction
Broad range of ages 22 years to 65 years old
    Good benefits
    9-5 hours (work life balance?)

    Cons

Sea of cubicles which made it seem like you didn't exist in the company
Not much of a relationship with any of the managers
Just a punch in. Do your numbers and punch out environment
Always asking to work weekends "pizza saturday"
Is it possible to move up significantly? Not sure, people in my department with 25 years experience were 3 cubicles away from me without a window...
Too much of a corporate/ dilbert lifestyle for me

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give more goals for individuals. I.E: in 3 years you can be eligible for ___ position
    More manager interaction

    Pros

working downtown. And free coffee in the floor kitchens

    Cons

Unfair, uneven and uneducated managers. There is absolutely no growth unless you are already "favored",

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

use spell check before hitting send and learn the proper meaning of big words before using them in sentences spoken out loud in meetings with others.
