I have been working at John Hancock full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits, discounts, people, opportunitiy for advancement but you have to look for it otherwise you don't find it.

    Cons

Atmosphere can be tense and stressful the level depends on where you work, the work/life balance can also vary depending on where you work, most management understands you have an outside work but the stress keeps you at your desk for long hours. You only advance if you seek out opportunities actively and not all management is super supportive you have to be lucky to get a supportive manager.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on the culture at John Hancock. Trust your employees they know what is best for the clients. To many times I've heard management second guess employees for two long than go with what they suggested after waiting far to long to act.

I worked at John Hancock full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with!! Nice Benefits and strong culture of promoting from within. Overall a decent place to work. Decent work hours; nice work/life balance.

    Cons

Employees need to be careful not to get too comfortable at one role because it becomes difficult to change departments later on. Low entry level salary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The pay among lower level employees tends to lag others in the finance industry. Consider increasing compensation for entry and mid-level employees.
