I have been working at John Hancock full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

The company is aggressively moving towards a work-life balance that is actually helpful for their employees. More employees are able to work from home anywhere from 1-5 days a week, depending on business unit and job function with most averaging 3-4 days at home. The company has invested in tools and software to make this a successful program.

Cons

Personal growth can sometimes be stagnant due to ever changing business models and need for positions to be 'vacated'.

I have been working at John Hancock full-time

    Pros

I love the people at John Hancock. I also love their Boston headquarters right in the Seaport district. There is definitely good work life balance and a lot of fun things to do in the area. I also go to the gym every day at lunch which has made me such a healthier person and so much easier to fit working out into my life. I don't know what I would do if I could only go before work or after work.

    Cons

In my position, you have to move in order to get ahead.

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
    Approves of CEO

JH is full of very professional and helpful people. Their extensive training in the beginning made it very easy to transition into the first day on call.

    Cons

The annuities department is currently not writing anymore new business making it difficult for job growth within the department.
