I have been working at John Muir Health part-time for more than 10 years

Pros

Great benefits, great people, excellent salary.

Cons

Large scale downsizing occurred between May 2013 and November 2013. It will not be the same place to work anymore. Expect leaner working conditions in the near future.

I worked at John Muir Health as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

The people at JMH from the hospital maintenance staff through the executive leadership are experienced and dedicated. The facilities are first rate, compensation is good.

    Cons

The company is struggling with cost cutting measures that has the workforce very concerned. An aging workforce and the rapid pace of change means that JMH will experience a lot of turnover in the coming year or so.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do your very best to manage your cost cutting exercises so that you don't decimate morale and compromise quality.

I worked at John Muir Health full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice people - non-management employees and hospital folks were great to work with
Good benefits for management - pay is above market but the real bucks start at Director level
Big, slow organization - no innovation, infrastructure is from 1990s

    Cons

    Accountability is not important
Senior leadership lacks controls over e-business Directors; high turnover rates in department
Big, slow organization - used paper time sheets and manual reviews up to 2012, for 6500 employees.
