    Pros

Working with some of the smartest people in the world.
One of the best funded biomedical engineering programs.
Most labs have sane work-life balance.
Lots of activities that are good for fun and networking.

    Cons

Degree requirements poorly defined and documented.
Unclear expectations about pretty much everything.
Difficult to find collaborators who aren't too busy for you.
Projects drag out forever because people tend towards perfectionism.

    Advice to Management

Clarify degree requirements. Encourage people to say no to collaborating on projects if they don't have enough time to do it well and in a timely manner.

    Pros

Few distractions. Very comprehensive university services, especially library service and gym. Most colleagues have very high academic standings.

    Cons

Very small campus consists of small departments. A lot of research directions are simply absent. Few recreational (other than the gym) options. No good restaurants nearby and the security situation deteriorates only 2 blocks from campus. To put it simple: lots of work but no life.

    Advice to Management

A large number of professors which serves as the backbone for the research of this institution are retiring in the near future. There are, however, not enough effort to recruit new people to ensure a smooth transition.
