This is a great teaching hospital. You will definitely learn a lot while working here. They also have great healthcare benefits and generous tuition reimbursement.

Cons

They do not pay well at all. I believe Johns Hopkins is the lowest paying hospital in Baltimore,MD

    Pros

If you have kids in college, the tuition benefit is outstanding.
    Vacation is good.
    Healthcare is good.
Tuition remission is good, and they are usually flexible to allow you to take classes.

    Cons

The salaries are low in exchange for the "prestige" of working at Hopkins.
Firing people is nearly impossible so some of your colleagues won't do any work but still get the same benefits as you.

Great place to continue your career education and learn a lot

    Pros

Time off is great, continuing education great, college benefits for kids is great

    Cons

Poor salary - raises don't match cost of living, no merit increases, very hard to continue career - lack of promotions or path

    Advice to Management

Get in line with regional salaries and figure out a career path within IT that involves more than coding
