Pros

Company values, environment and opportunities make it a good place to work. To this current time JCI has continued to be a company of high values and is now facing the challenges that our competition has been addressing. Recently JCI laid off several hundred people and it was done with respect and in my opinion they get high grades for considering the people and the way they treat them.

Cons

Some people get lost in the number of employees working. I feel the few words listed in my statement sum up a struggle that any large company is facing in todays market place.

Advice to Management

I enjoy working at JCI however some of management is not consistent with the same values as others. Need to work to get on the same page. Upper management needs to refocus and gain consistency.

    Pros

You will learn alot...Most of it will be self taught....Its interesting work....If you can make it here you can make it ANYWHERE,,,,People start there careers at JCI and become extremely successful...if you are smart enough to leave....

    Cons

ITS A CORPORATE MONSTER!!! Your branch has no power over corporate decisions...Horrible..Horrible benefits...There bonuses are so 1 sided,,They create bonus structures that involve other areas of there business that you have no control over...Whoever creates jobs at Johnson controls knows how to create the most F@#t up positions..The average employee works 55 to 75 hrs a week and you cannot compare the job positions with any other in the industry because they simply do not exist...especially the LSS..LEAD SYSTEM SPECIALIST POSITION...Stay very clear of this one...Unless you don't like having a life and have no intentions of starting a family...Johnson's only concern is to the SHARE HOLDER...The employee is the farthest thing from there minds!!

    Advice to Management

You must focus on whats in front of you...What works in some areas of the country may not work in your part of the country...Do not let Milwaukee run your business..If you do you will lose ground fast..The Johnson controls name has been dragged through the mud JCI has reorganized and has changed there way of thinking and it has hurt them in the controls industry world wide...They are losing customers daily...Customer satisfaction is so low its ridiculous,,Employee moral is at its lowest ever...As the economy sinks ..JCI continues to squeeze the life out of there employees..If you see a position with a high drop out rate...Do something about it,,Stand up for your employees!!

    Pros

johnson controls was once a wonderful place to work. They expect a lot out of their employees, but it was once a take and give situation. It has now become a take and take situation.

    Cons

It is very scary to watch a very large corporation cut corners and pinch pennies in the places they have.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and start treating employees like people the way the company once did. You can not continue to cut position and expect people to be able to pick up the extra work left behind and still do the right things. The company speaks of morales and values ,, where have they gone ??
