I worked at Johnson Controls full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

great training and benefits, quality products to sell, mostly cutting edge technology

    Cons

bureaucratic, if in a branch the quality and morale of the workplace is hugely dependent on the branch manager - in my case this was a bad thing, uninspiring work environment

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

evolve with the changing economy - hire managers that actually get it and can shield their people from the myopia of wall street

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

Former Employee - Marketing Manager in Milwaukee, WI

I worked at Johnson Controls full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, safe and courteous workplace for men, women, and minorities. The company gives back generously to the community and is one of the "greenest" companies to work for in the U.S.

    Cons

Getting ahead is more about who you know and how long you've worked there than actual accomplishments, which has led to a small group of very tenured people in most management roles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring in new blood from similar industries, promote on results, not political acumen.
