Pros

JCI is a very-well known and respected brand in different industries such as HVAC, Controls, Battery and working for this big multinational company can provide you great opportunities in your career.

Cons

Salaries are much less than expected and sometimes performance evaluations can be not fair. This is a sales-driven company and individual development is not very much supported by the company.

    Pros

    -Good pay and benefits
    -Less stressful than many companies
    -Generally friendly, supportive environment
    -Plenty of company-funded training opportunities
-Many company divisions can actually make positive impact
-Fairly ethical business practices and commitment to integrity
-Some positions offer opportunities to work with interesting new technologies

    Cons

-Incredibly top-heavy with far too many levels of management
-Communication breakdowns between departments, groups, and teams common
-Individual employees relatively powerless to solve internal or customer issues
-Incredibly numbers-based decision-making (including employee evaluations)
-Frequent turnover, especially in management position (at least in Building Efficiency division)
-Not very innovative or creative for a "technology" company
    -Mercurial policies/goals/vision for the future
-Fairly defined career paths that may lead to dead-ends
-Internal IT systems can be impossible to use

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Streamline communication across business units and between employees, and let employees have opportunities to actually affect company practices and choose their career direction. Reduce the layers of managerial and administrative overhead. Focus more on employee and customers input than numbers.
