Former Employee - Marketing Communications Manager in Milwaukee, WI

I worked at Johnson Controls full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Very forward and marketing-oriented thinking for an engineering-based organization.

    Cons

The company doesn't always do its due diligence when hiring. Tendency to overlook key gaps in both skill sets and personality/management style in deference to hiring someone from a Fortune 100/500 company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not overlook talent because they do not have a "pedigree" or are over 40.

I have been working at Johnson Controls as an intern (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Stability... flexibility of working at home.

    Cons

no promotion.. been here five years.. they just don't want to pay you more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

you have to pay to keep good staff in your organization.. There is only so much workflow and tools and products can do, when you hire bad staff.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
