I have been working at Johnson & Johnson

Pros

Great work life balance. Great benefits. Top training in industry. People who care about doing business the fair way. Lots of divisions to move around in.

Cons

Everything goes slow at J&J. Process, process, process. Takes forever to get promoted. Low pay compared to most companies. Lots of downsizing in the near future.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep sales reps motivated with shorter term opportunities to get promoted, raises, or whatever interests them.

I have been working at Johnson & Johnson

    Pros

JNJ has a good name and if you work in the right location they can give you a lot of experience with working with management. You get a good feel for the business world.

    Cons

They hire a lot of co-ops so you don't necessarily stand out to full time employers if you choose to apply to other companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

keep encouraging employees and put more responsibility on them so they can get the most of their experience with you

I have been working at Johnson & Johnson

    Pros

    Good benefits & pay
    Friendly coworkers, somewhat "cookie cutter"
If you get in the right department, there are some really smart and dedicated employees
They try to allow employees flexible hours/telecommunting

    Cons

    Too many working hours, understaffed
Some departments have lots of talkers, not a lot of doers
The company's large size makes it impossible to get any decisions made, or the decision makers are so far removed they don't understand the issues well enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Eliminate fuzzy communication about where the company is headed. Understand where resources are needed and invest in preventing burnout (especially in your best employees - at all levels)
