I worked at Johnson & Johnson full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Decent pay and benefits friendly people. Still offer pension and 401K does well.

Cons

The organization does not promote on hard work it's who you are aligned to rather then your skills. Also it's all about the leadership programs. They will not offer the same opportunities to older workforce. It's all about the HRLDP, FLDP etc. not saying that they should not have these programs however, give your internal exp. workers the same opportunities.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote smart people not people who you golf with or play sports with. Value your older workers and by older anyone over 35.

I have been working at Johnson & Johnson as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

It depends on Manager each work environment is different, good work/life balance, and a good learning curve. You will learn a lot about the consumer business. Can't speak to company fulltime perks only temp.

    Cons

Too many temp/contracted (contingent) workers, need to hire more full time employees Knowledge based leaves every time you hire new.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Can't expect A+ work or loyalty from contracted workers who time is limited and considered obsolete and the low contracting pay makes is worse. High turnover makes it hard for a cohesive work environment. Temps aren't disposable units their people.

  2. Rigid culture, processes - new ideas not welcomed

I worked at Johnson & Johnson full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities for those in New Jersey (Consumer).

    Cons

Beware external hires...they farm future managers out of school for their FLDP program and over the course of a year only FLDPs were promoted to managers (approx 10).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work but things are not always what they seem.
