I have been working at Johnson & Johnson

    Pros

JnJ is an amazing company committed to patients/customers, community, employees, and finally the share holder. The company credo does represent JnJ at the heart of the organization. I consider myself fortunate to be part of this great company, because I can be a leader regardless of my position or level.

    Cons

It's a challenging time for the organization due to the current recession. JnJ needs to engage employees more with talent development opportunities and communication.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Engage...engage...engage your people and implement any new tactics to create quick wins as you rerecruit the JnJ employees. Otherwise, when the market rebounds, many of our most talented employees will leave for competitor opportunities.

Overall, it's a good company to start your career with, especially if you're in its Leadership Development program.

    Pros

Networking opportunities with other colleagues, health plan choices, great employees, ability to transfer and grow within J&J business units.

    Cons

Outsourcing of service-oriented work (HR, IT, and Finance)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be accountable for your decisions and actions. J&J employees are great people and they take pride in their work. Let them do their work. Don't involve them in your politics, because they shouldn't be the "collateral damage" for your mistakes.
