Pros

Good response time from Warsaw Fire Department during drills
Clean facility
Excellent soup in the cafeteria!
Walkways are kept salted during winter

Cons

At DePuy in Warsaw, many of the managers, but not all, simply do not care about their employees well-being. Indeed, the former are more concerned with maintenance of a high standard of living (including the essential stay-at-home spouse) in this low-cost region. Considerable overtime required to meet deadlines for overaccelerated projects. The company makes liberal use of contractor and temp employees, but no real effort is made to increase permanent employee headcount. The performance rating scale is highly subjective and ranges from 1-9: 1-3 (you're leaving soon), 4-6 (you're working hard), 7-8 (you're wearing knee pads), 9 is off limits.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

We want to redefine the leading-edge in orthopaedics and make reliable implants all of the time. This is what we studied in school for, relocated our families here for, breathe in day and night. But it is impossible when you keep cutting resources, and mistakes then happen.

    Pros

    Good company - Great people
    Upstanding reputation
    excellent compensation and benefits
Extremely caring and understanding about personal affairs
Diverse group of people all working for a good cause

    Cons

Very Demanding and a lot of things to do always but worth the work.
Minor problems with management and understanding IT processes (as a whole)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management needs to be more open to younger / newer employees thoughts and contributions. Old ways are sound and safe, but sometimes new ideas can turn out to be better and most cost saving.
