Horrendous management provided by post-docs, little opportunity for advancement.

I worked at Judge Baker Children's Center full-time for less than a year

ProsWorking at Judge Baker give one the opportunity to add "Harvard Medical School" to one's resume. Although my experience was sour in the day-to-day, the realistic exposure to the sad side of academia was valuable.

ConsPost-docs receive little management training and as a result end up as terrible managers. Politics and cattiness dominate the research department.

Advice to Senior ManagementPost-docs need to learn how to manage employees. Considering that they hold PhDs in psychology, they demonstrate a very rudimentary understanding of how to motivate people and provide an enjoyable work environment. Give your employees meaningful experiences and set realistic expectations.
