Safeway House For Nortel, Avaya and other defunct companies

Major Account Manager (Current Employee)

I have been working at Juniper Networks full-time

ProsExposed to cutting edge technology and competitive compensation packages and benefits. Good flex time unless you have a micro Nortel manager.

ConsSenior leadership is not equipped to lead this company, stop hiring individuals from Nortel, Avaya, Alu and other companies who could not cut it against Cisco. These individuals have brought their failed leadership qualities, their failed strategies, and their friends to fill open reqs. Currently you will be frustrated as hell and lose serious credability with your customer network if your in sales. Senior and midlevel managers cannot execute a consistent strategy for more than two consecutive quarters before another reorg. Weekly departures of employees with some serious tenure are jumping ship. Lots of dead weight in sales and marketing. No fire in the belly to get anything done but collect a paycheck and celebrate mediocrity.

Advice to Senior ManagementAdvise to the board clean the current mangement and bring in some movers and shakers. The spear of the tip is just the beginning you have to go much deeper and remove some of these exec with unproven backgrounds and worst yet no background in networking. Company has the tools, you just have the wrong pilots navigating. Their failed policies over the past 3 years are coming to pass only now. Sales meeting, big waste of precious capital.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
