Juniper Networks – “Juniper is a solid company with no shortage of opportunities!”

I feel there is a lot of growth potential at Juniper and I'm bullish with the new management changes but there is a small window of opportunity to get this right. What keeps me going is I do believe Juniper provides a great work environment in terms of flexibility, benefits/time off and the ability to chart your own course if you have the fortitude to do so.
Cons
In a time of serious economic challenges, I feel there are many people "spinning" with a lack of clear leadership and direction. It is very frustrating for folks who want to make a difference and are used to being top performers but they don't understand how their work ties to the company objectives and they have a bozo for a boss.
Advice to Senior Management
Make an investment in the people that are the top performers and support them in career development and planning. It still seems that the people who get promoted are the people who are in the right place at the right time when somebody exits. This may be a conveninent and quick solution to a problem but think about the long term ramificaitons.

Yes, this is true. There are many good managers, but there are also quite a few bozos who got promoted because they just happened to be there, or they were friends with the right person. This comes to be perceived as lack of respect for good performers, who get frustrated when they get a new manager who isn't competent.
