Great team-oriented work environment. The girls, clinical staff, and residential staff at the Walden Street School are so dynamic and their enthusiasm is contageous. You will learn a LOT about trauma-informed approaches.

Cons

L'environnement de travail est souvent stressant, dangereux et épuisant. Cependant il y a un important système de suivi des responsables qui offrent une excellente formation.

The working environment is often stressful, hazardous, and exhausting. However, there is a strong support system of supervisors who provide excellent training.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Je conseillerais d'entretenir de meilleurs rapports entre les employés qui possèdent plusieurs années d'expérience et ceux récemment embauchés afin de diminuer les taux d'épuisement et de renouvellement du personnel.

I would recommend fostering better connections between employees with several years of experience, and those who are recent hires, to decrease the high turnover and burnout rates.

    Pros

You are able to create your own schedule however you like as long as you hit 40hrs/wk. Management allows you to do a combination of work at home/work in the office which is a perk not typical in most agencies. Agency provides you with a work phone and clinicians are also provided with work laptops. Management team is ALWAYS available - this includes late at night and on the weekends. They always answer their phones and provide support 24/7 - it is great to work with such dedicated and supportive management. Management team also supports their employees' personal and professional development and assists employees in developing long term career goals. There is a lot of room for growth as JRI community based program is opening new offices across the state of Connecticut. The population served is among the most at-risk youth and families in the state, providing a great experience to sharpen and refine your clinical skills. Working for JRI has been an incredibly rewarding experience.

    Cons

This is a high -stress job, as any job in the human service field. It can be a bit disorganized with the new offices opening but that is only temporary. The driving can be a bit much at times - clients can be an hour apart from each other.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the great work in supporting employees' personal/professional development and being so available and approachable. More clinical supervisors could be beneficial.

I have been working at Justice Resource Institute full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

There are many positives to being an employee of JRI. JRI's mission and vision is carried out in the community through their vast services and agencies. Their core values ensure opportunities for their clients to better themselves, their families, and their communities. This can be said for the employees of JRI as well. With tuition reimbursement, flexible schedules, and continous trainings and professional development, JRI allows ample support to achieve one's personal goals. JRI views their employees as their best investment. JRI make a conscience effort to promote employees from within, thus providing job security and the opportunity to grow within the company.

    Cons

JRI's IT Infrastructure is lacking for such a prominent company. Employees can feel the burden of such emotionally driven jobs. Having a reliable updated centralized system to streamline the administrative aspect efficiently and utilize more time with clients

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would advise investing in more up to date paperless system. All in all JRI is a great company to work for!
