I have been working at K&K Interiors

Pros

Offers overtime most of the year.
Most of the people are friendly.
Known for quality product.
Understanding of needing time off for appointments, etc.

Cons

Lack of communication, growth opportunities, and fairness.
Lack of proper compensation structure.
Hard for temps to get hired in, if not impossible.
No 401K or any other benefits other than some PTO after you have been there awhile and lousy medical and dental.
Unpredictable, management drops the ball too often.

Advice to Management

Treat all employees the same. Hire temps in after 3 to 6 months if they are doing a good job. Open the lines of communication to all employees.

    Pros

    K & K is incredibly passionate about product and about taking care of the loyal customers who have been with them for almost 20 years. No other company spends the time and energy that K & K does to make sure the product is fresh, on trend, and price right. Whatever product category they decide to do, they do it right.. Jewelry, Home Décor, Accessories, Baby, Christmas, Fall, Halloween, Easter, Garden.. something for everyone.

    Cons

    Because the showrooms are so busy during shows, it is hard to work with all of the customers who want to see you. You do your best, but there is never enough time to work with them all.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you are doing.. the future is bright!

    Pros

    beautiful product,
    very family oriented
    there is a lot of nice people work there
    benefits, paid vacations

    Cons

    there is no structure or planning ahead what causes a lot of frustration and delays, huge amount of money wasted, no management- owner macro managing employees with no room for any initiative, a lot of time wasted waiting for instructions, absolutely no appreciation for quality of work, all based on private preferences of the owners- no evaluation, no training, no job description. no team spirit. lots of promises never ever kept, a lot of manipulation.

    Advice to Management

    hire professional management, get structure and job descriptions.
