I have been working at K12 full-time
Pros – If you're in certain departments favored by the CEO, you can get away without working very hard. Go for the marketing department...it's rolling in money and employees.
Cons – Non-existent to tiny pay increases over the past several years. (Understandable in troubled companies, but not ones - like K12 - that report regular profits and pay their CEO $5 million in compensation.) Took away vacation benefits this year. Took away tuition benefits this year. Intense favoritism - company is a friend-ocracy, not a meritocracy.
Advice to Senior Management – Grow up. You're supposed to teach children; not be children. Treat employees as if you care about them.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
