Great networking experience, but ultimately felt overworked and underpaid.

I worked at KPMG International full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Company is young, making it a dynamic and often fun workplace to be. Got great exposure to a variety of different industries and had the opportunity to meet many talented individuals both within KPMG and through client interaction.

Cons

It takes at least 3 years to go from Consultant to Senior Consultant, with little to no pay increases year-to-year. A 60 hour week was not uncommon, with no bonuses or overtime to compensate for extra time spent at the office. Upper management can at times be distant, though this probably varies from department to department. As a result, turnover is extremely high (thereby keeping the average age of the company quite low).

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better career development would help to ensure that entry-level professionals stay on past the 1-2 year mark.

I have been working at KPMG International as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

The thing that stood out to me after working at KPMG is that their management listens to the staff's ideas and actually cares about their well-being instead of treating them as work slaves. They also give their employees the chance to work hard if they'd like to. Overall, the company allows people to grow at their own pace while providing all the resources they need to excel.

    Cons

Some of the challenges you might face are overall personal health and wellness, as well as a personal life outside of work. Working alongside co-workers and comparing hours/productivity creates a competitive air. You may find that you change "teams" often, leading to a necessary shift in the way you work or function.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work -- continue caring about your employees and they will care about the company and ensuring that it does well.
