Pros

Exposure to industries Smart colleagues Significant responsibilities in the early stages of your career

Cons

Fast-paced environment can get tiring after several years Pay is competitive with other firms, but doesn't seem competitive for skills and effort required

Advice to Management

Management has focused it's efforts on making Advisory it's growth engine. This has resulted in a wide range of professionals and skill-sets. A 'one size fits all' salary band by level should be reevaluated to attract talent in specialized areas of the practice (that may command a higher salary).

    Pros

The only pro I have seen to working for KPMG is the name is recognizable on your resume

    Cons

The company just doesn't care about employees. The only way to get a promotion or a real salary raise is to receive an offer from another company. Then management will try to keep you by meeting the salary you were offered. Because they are losing so many people and hurting so bad, they will try hard to keep you once you have decided to leave; but that's too late. They just don't care to nurture their people while they are there. There is a managing partner who apparently is a real slave-driver in silicon valley. People in the office talk about him and how he doesn't give a dime about the welfare of employees. The only thing that he and his clique care about is their big fat salaries.

    Advice to Management

Start listening to people. Take your exit interviews seriously. Give people the raises they deserve. Put leaders who care about people in leadership positions so you can retain your assets, your professional base.
