I have been working at KPMG US full-time (more than a year)

Pros

More independence once you become a Senior. Flexibility.

Cons

Unpredictable hours during final audits. Work load can be based on how much the manager participates and takes on.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show all levels of staff respect, treat them with dignity, and don't push manager/partner tasks onto lower level employees. This creates an enjoyable environment where the team feels valued and respected and therefore will work harder and more efficiently.

    I worked at KPMG US full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    I worked with a great group of people and made many connections there. I was able to gain some skills and exposure to an HR/Recruiting environment. It was a good start to my career. The people who you get to work with for the most part are genuinely very nice people.

    Cons

    Very low pay compared to their competitors and other companies.
    Hardly any opportunity for growth/learning. People stay in the same positions for years and go no where and have little to show for it.
    They don't award high-performers adequately (at least not on the HR/non-client serving side).
    The culture they've built wants you to constantly do more work and take on more responsibilities without compensating/recognizing you fairly for it.
    It seems as though people are leaving in droves and morale is fairly low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Invest in your people. Pay them fairly. You can't ask them to give you everything and provide nothing in return because people see right through your "High-Performance Culture" nonsense.
