I have been working at KPMG US

    Pros

Time off, salary, opportunities for advancement, training

    Cons

The hours and flexibility are hard to deal with at first but as you move up, it's easier to manage your schedule and work/life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I wish they would be a little more forthright with employees instead of waiting so long for staff to find anything out.

    I worked at KPMG US

    Pros

KPMG offered a salary that is higher than I could get working in industry. There is plenty of vacation time, volunteer opportunities and you can earn a lot of CPEs.

The people are intelligent, generally very nice and willing to help out others in order for the project to succeed. Everyone is motivated to perform at a high level but do no back stab to get ahead.

Being in Advisory, I learned a lot by working with other Advisory practices, but also alongside the Audit and Tax groups. The opportunity to work along side them provided an incredible experience.

    Cons

Advisory work is a commodity, so there will times in which it is feast or famine. It is difficult to manage work/life balances because of the extremes but you're typically less than 100% utilized.

There are way more CPEs available than you could ever complete although the training could be stronger. Education online seems outdated and the classes at Advisory University only scratch the service of topics.

Management is quick to relay positive information about the Firm but keeps remaining employees in the dark about downsizing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have recruited people that are intelligent and will be life long friends. Your recruiting teams seem to be doing a great job.
Improve work/life balance whenever possible to avoid burnout, improve training and keep staff better informed regarding the Firm.

    Doesn't Recommend
