I have been working at KPMG US

    Pros

This is really a good place for accounting grad to start a career be it professional development or salary. You get exposed to the intricacies of financial accounting and be the forefront in adopting the latest IFRS.

    Cons

Senior management not transparent on their management decision.

    Case 1:
Has worked with one Senior Manager for one big engagement and yet he is totally slacking off. He did not visit the client premises for the whole 3 month audit. Submitted files for him to review and he will gladly click "Reviewed" yet knows nothing about the company. Incompetent to the extent that he has no principles at all, subservient to client demand eventhough partner disagrees. So it's left to the senior to clean up the mess. Wonder how even get to be a Senior Manager

    Case 2:
Extremely demanding and petty manager. A technical sound manager which holds everybody to his high expectation. Yet he himself is slow in producing workpapers and can only blame the team for everything.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Really try connect with the audit staff and care about them, not merely lip service. Salary is good but it's not sustainable. Appreciate your staff for what they have been through behind the scene.
