Pros

Company makes a great product. In fact you could say it is the best in the industry. They spend a lot of money on marketing and engineering. Giving their products and services lots of exposure.

Cons

For a company that has one of the best but most expensive products in their industry they do not understand that they make a product that needs to be sold by professional salesman. The company culture is that salesman are replaceable. Upper management is top heavy and after sales support is non existent. Despite California labor laws that say otherwise. They will not pay you on any commissions for sales that you made once you leave the company. Despite selling the most expensive products in the industry the pay/commissions and benefits are the lowest in the industry. This job is not bad to learn the industry and make some connections and use that to find a better job within the industry with a competitor. For a privately held company there is a LOT of red tape. Kaeser is held hostage to it;s own ISO standards. The tail is clearly wagging the dog here and makes simple day to day business activities a nightmare.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Embrace your sales force and make a clear cut organization chart. Revise ISO policy to free up branch level personal to make smart timely business decisions.

I have been working at Kaeser Compressor full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good starting sales position. You will have lower than average sales volume compared to other sales jobs and decent base salary. Minimal supervision depending on your manager. The Kaeser brand is highly respected for quality.

    Cons

You are NOT trained until after you have been with the company for at least 3 months. You are expected to make sales calls without having much of a clue about what you are saying. You have corporate support but be prepared to be spoken down to, as if you are an idiot. If you can endure the first year it becomes more palatable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train sales staff immediately. Stop constantly changing sales goals.
