I worked at Kaiser Permanente as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Excellent Pay and hours (with paid overtime!)

    Great corporate culture and people

In general, KP is the best at what it does.

    Cons

My supervisor had very little work for me. I spent a good bit of my summer just sitting at my computer waiting for someone around the office to need something..

Intern program is very new, so the company is still working out the kinks and bugs.

Low job placement rates after internship. Instead, most interns looking for full time positions just get their internships extended another year.

I have been working at Kaiser Permanente full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Some areas have work life balance, other areas expect long hours. Kaiser has been laying off employees but the work grows. Hence long hours for many remaining employees.

    Cons

Political, favoritism, management is more concerned with managing up than managing and growing their employees. Hard to move up unless you excel in politics.
This is not the place to work if you believe that being smart, adding value and doing the right thing will help you move up in the organization. Marginal employees are constantly promoted because they are political, not because they improve the company or are good leaders.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a look at your leaders and clean house. Some VPs should have been let go years ago. Lack of ethics and integrity

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
