I have been working at Kaiser Permanente full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

High Pay, excellent benefits, strong union. Most people don't leave Kaiser, and if they do, they come back (or at least try to). I've only been a nurse 1 year and I make $44/hr + night differential.

    Cons

They don't really train nurses in specialty areas....so say you work on a Telemetry or Medsurg floor but want to get into Labor & Delivery, well most specialty areas like Pediatrics, L&D, NICU, ICU want experienced nurses and it's hard to get a position in those departments without experience, even if you've been a nurse in a different area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More training opportunities for specialty floors.
