Pros

It's growing quickly and the salaries are good. There are a lot of industry professionals within the company that have a lot of connections.

Cons

Many employees are jaded and there is a general atmosphere of frustration. Kaltura moves surprisingly slowly for a startup, with a lot of focus on money at the cost of a strong company culture. There are often long hours, few rewards and few opportunities for advancement. Also, not many women in management positions, and they're not widely respected. Many employees, especially in the US, are very concerned about their egos and focus more on their personal relationships rather than moving the company forward.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Nearly every employee is frustrated on a daily basis, and you will continue to lose good employees by not taking real, committed steps to improving this.

I have been working at Kaltura full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

There is a high level of freedom at Kaltura, which means that you can really be the best you can be without corporate policy holding you back. There are opportunities to move up, to different positions or explore other verticals.

    Cons

Salary is average and because of the dynamic structures you really need to be able to manage yourself without waiting for others to tell you what to do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The overall direction seems to be clear, but there is an (sometimes) unnecessary disconnect between product development and customers, which can get in the way of providing the best possible solutions to the customers.

I have been working at Kaltura full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Kaltura is dominating and advancing a challenging tech market, and does so across very interestingly varied industries - video and media workflows - delivering, managing and measuring video from the creator studio all the way to the consumer. In Kaltura, work encompasses interesting developments and solution architecture from across verticals, including education (more than 600 universities including all Ivy league in the US and global institutions), Fortune 10k Enterprises (including many of the Fortune 50!), Media & Entertainment (including ABC, Disney, HBO, Sesame Street...). If you're looking for an adventure and a place where you can make an impact, Kaltura is definitely the place - nimble, cutting-edge, fast-growing company (approaching 400 ppl globally) and the most amazingly open culture and flexible workplace!

    Cons

If you're looking for a 9 to 5 job where you won't be expected to take initiatives or be creative - go somewhere else!
Pay is great, but it's not Google... yet.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep growing steadily, keep the openness and be even more approachable!
