I worked at Kana full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Kana has great people and is very savvy about building a strong product portfolio. Recent acquisitions have added dimensionality to the product line. On the benefits side, the insurance is terrific this year.

Cons

Kana tends to be process heavy, which hampers actual productivity. The 401(k) is good to have but there is no company match. As a privately held company, there is also no stock for employees.

    I worked at Kana as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

    When they were searching for an intern for their PR position, the response time was very fast. I was able to schedule an interview within the week and was accepted for the position.

    Cons

    However, they took two weeks to tell me that the position could not be moved to the next stages. Their management was very unprofessional and did not pick up my calls after the incident.

    I have been working at Kana

    Pros

    You can work from home, they have a good lunch area, if you like Dojo you will get to use it a lot

    Cons

    The schedule is crazy, management really doesn't know how to manage, they claim to be Agile but they are really time boxed and feature boxed, they use WID and the IBM stack, expectations are out of control, the culture sucks because there really isn't any, just a bunch of people that work there

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Figure out what you are really doing, convey it all the time to everyone, Take a look at your competition and what they are doing with their product and their companies. Get more managers that are willing to make a stand and not just follow. Do what is right and not just what is asked of you
