I worked at Kaplan University
Pros – If you can get employment outside of Admissions, then it should be a great opportunity. If you are able to get employed right now, at least it's a job with better pay than unemployment.
Cons – Tremendous amount of micromanagement with you being monitored in all accounts of the job. Calls are closely monitored and if you make mistakes, no second chances are given (hence the revolving door). They have no problems firing employees no matter how long they have worked for the company, even for petty mistakes. Many of the management staff still continue to put high amounts of pressure on the advisors to sell, sell, sell. You are expected to follow a strict schedule that is given to you weekly telling you when to take breaks and lunch.
Advice to Senior Management – Break down some of the management levels as their must be at least 6 levels before you reach the CEO in Admissions alone. Take more pressure off the Admissions staff and focus on quality, not quantity.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
