Kellogg Employee Review
Kellogg – “What a headache of a job!”
2 of 2 people found this helpfulPros
Kellogg pays well for the food industry. You are thrust into learning allot of skills quickly.
Cons
The plant runs 24/7. For managers there is a mandated 12 hour shift which is more like 13.5-14 hrs in reality. You have different days off on different weeks. The amount of work expected is high and the tools to accomplish the goals are low. The union is ugly to deal with, HR will not back you and preventive maintenance is very ineffective. Also, how to administer the contract is always difficult since the contract is vague and the amount of "prior practices" is large, confusing and unwritten.
Advice to Senior Management
Care about your plant level managers and forget the top down management style. Hourly folks stay because of the high wages but you loose out with the high turnover of management.
