Kelly Services – “Kelly Services - MS Contractor = C- experience”
Pros
Better than working for some other vendor/ CS companies onsite at MS.
Cons
Benefits are not very good and expensive, contract stability, and transparency on contract length. Employer renewal of said contract at MS is every 90 days. Understand that you may not be told this as I wasn't informed of that. You maybe extended or not, luckily I was. Recruiters/ Employee Relations Reps are there for the employer so that can be an issue if you need some intervention. Expect to work right up to the 12th hour leading up to a holiday closure regardless of the season or your holiday plans. Communication is a serious red flag - I never saw my Employee Rep in 5 months until I chose to leave my contract due to serious contract manager management style/communication issues. Understand that you are regarded as a commodity to be worked hard and a resource not a potential employee as fulltime positions in this area are rare and reserved for the corporate minded person(s).
Advice to Senior Management
Work harder for you contractors - The economy won't be slow forever and employees have long memories on how you represent them. Work to communicate with your contractors better and drop by one in a while in person and find out if any issues or conerns are quietly hidden under that busy deamenor. Contractors are worried you will not be an advocate for them, show them how you can be.
