Pros

Opportunity to work with many Fortune 500 companies gaining experience and perspective.
Flexible work schedule to some extent.
Pay is ok. Nothing special...
In general, coworkers are nice.

Cons

You become all too familiar with what Lean operations means. It means that you are overworked and are so compartmentalized that you are not able to gain any new responsibilities and all your work is extremely repetitive. Pushed to be a machine by processing candidates.
Most of the account managers responsible for dealing with the HR dept. of the client companies are push-overs because they are too afraid to lose the account by providing important feedback to the client company that wants to do things their own way without them even seeing what happens or understanding why changes need to be made.
Kelly OCG is extremely focused on maximizing profits to the extent that it hurts their employees.
Many employees are hired on as Flex employees waiting years without benefits to be hired on as a Core employee. Budgets rarely permit flex employees to be converted to core. Turnover is high. Even when converted to Core status, many employees are still paid hourly and can be laid off or be forced to work reduced hours. The work is unstable no matter what because it's all based on client companies needs, which change, and the company has a history of losing clients to competitors.
The company promotes Kelly Learning Center as an educational tool, but internal recruiters and hiring managers do not consider the training courses completed as enough to promote you. They also don't give time during work hours to complete the KLC courses, even if they are required courses. Career planning meetings with management are a joke because they know that there is no chance to move to the next position unless you already have prior experience outside the company to qualify you.

Advice to Management

Provide your employees with actually opportunity for advancement and benefits at least after they work as a Flex employee for 6+ months. Ensure that all the internal employees are considered first before posting externally and provided even the minimal training required to be an outstanding performer. Upper management either has no idea what is going on in this segment of their company, or turns a blind eye.

    Pros

    There really are no Pros that I can think of off the top of my head

    Cons

    Phone calls and emails go unanswered; they promise you things to get you to work but most of what is said is just lies

    Advice to Management

    Be upfront with your employees. Don't make empty promises or lie. Respond when an email is sent or return a phone call.

    Pros

    Short wait for employment, ok pay, average health insurance.

    Cons

    You must wait six months for your first holiday to be paid as a contractor. No matching 401K, No vacation or sick time. They make promises that you MIGHT be hire on later but don't back it up to several employees in Boulder, Colorado at Covidien. Long term contract does not always mean long term. A two year contract can be only 15 months. Their bonus only works on full calander time not how long you been there. It is like Daily work - daily pay except you don't have to ride in a back of a truck to get to your job site.

    Advice to Management

    You are not a very good placement service for Temp-to-hire. Only users for cheap labor.
