    No good deed goes un-promoted.

I have been working at Kennesaw State University

    Pros

I have an extremely flexible schedule that allows me to live a balanced life. I can telecommute and work on my degree that is paid as a benefit of full-time employment. There is a pleasant environment and many opportunities to grow and learn.

    Cons

No one has gotten any raises at KSU in 5 years. They charge a great deal for parking and that amount is going up. There is little movement or promotion within your department. HR has too much control over employment issues. Only those who play the politics get ahead. No good deed results in promotion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reign in HR and start promoting people from within. To get ahead you have to leave your job and apply at some other post on campus. They list jobs and have no intention of hiring anyone and put people through interviews and place people they had in mind. It is a waste of time to put job seeker through this. I have applied for at least 30 jobs in my 6 years at KSU to just make more money and every one of the interviews...were a ruse.
