I worked at Keppel FELS

Pros

Keppel FELS bonus is one of the highest, however there is a very large sacrifice for such a large sum.

Cons

Work stress is extremely high and production tends to have up a lot of on-site supervision. Typical working hours may run into 8.30pm/10.30pm and politics are plentiful.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be nicer. People will follow you if you are good. There is no need to install hidden cameras and CCTV all over the company just to monitor people.

    I worked at Keppel FELS

    Pros

Work with the best engineering talents from design, planning to actual execution of a shipbuilding project. The job also provides high level of satisfaction to individuals that enjoys working in challenging environment.

    Cons

Tough working condition may deter those that are not used to working under the sun for long hours in protective gears. This is especially so for females, and there is indeed a shortage of female officers in the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management at the top level enforces strategies that looks to improve the operations of the company. However, certain technology and innovation that have been introduced in other industries may not be applicable to the marine industry especially if the staff do not understand how to fully exploit the effects and benefits of the technology.
