Pros – Great stepping stone to gain experience to take elsewhere, especially at the lower levels. The company has had a good reputation in the field, but it is somewhat undeserved based on recent performance. Benefits were decent. You are not micromanaged, but lack of leadership allows this to radically affect overall company efficacy at all levels.

Cons – Very inconsistent performance review process. Often completely influenced by your manager's personal opinion of you rather than on the quality of the work performed. Little justification for ranking, very little opportunity to take issues up-line and receive any resolution. HR ineffective in dealing with problem employees and relationships. A much higher silo mentality than would be expected from such a small organization, preventing true collaboration among departments. The salary structure is completely inconsistent.

Advice to Senior Management – Reward employees for the quality of work performed. Set performance standards uniformly. Set salary levels consistently - a great deal of resentment exists because many salaries are known. Most people are in retrench mode and constantly on the lookout to be stabbed in the back or have their ideas stolen.
