I worked at KeyBank full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

efficient operation, good pay and vacation

Cons

don't value employees, purely money driven by steep goals. And if you meet those goals, you only get higher goals. They are too centrally managed, and tie the hands of local offices.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be so rigid with rules, the local areas know what they are doing more than a corporate tower.

I worked at KeyBank full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good pay, great exposure to banking and capital markets.

    Cons

High turn-over and long hours. Management is taking outsourcing initiatives too far. Senior staff is very talented but over-worked while management negotiates risks all day. New hire training was non-existent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train properly and invest in your employees, show everyone they're valued. Focus on mitigating risks, not solely outsourcing or renegotiating amongst business line management.

I worked at KeyBank full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits includes 401K and PTO.

    Cons

Company does not value their mature workers especially those who add value and are still very productive within their LOB teams.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be smart about the mature workers you look to permanently eliminate. When hiring to replace eliminated employees, make sure experience & skill are matched the correct grade and salary. In my experience their is no coaching or guidance from direct and next level senior management. Managers do not know how or have the knowledge to mentor and develop their employees.
